This bespoke home cinema was designed as a true reference-grade private cinema, combining striking aesthetics with uncompromising audio-visual performance. From the moment you enter the room, it is clear that every element has been carefully considered to deliver a cinematic experience that rivals commercial screening rooms, while remaining refined, immersive, and effortless to use.
At the heart of the system is a fully calibrated 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos soundstage, engineered to create a seamless three-dimensional audio experience. Dialogue is anchored with absolute precision, effects move fluidly around the room, and the overhead channels add a convincing sense of height and scale that fully envelops the audience. Low-frequency performance is delivered by a pair of Ascendo Dual 18-2 subwoofers, providing astonishing depth and control. The bass is powerful and visceral when required, yet remains tight and musical, underpinning the soundtrack without ever overwhelming it.
Audio processing and amplification are handled by Storm Audio, ensuring exceptional clarity, dynamics, and accuracy across every channel. The system has been meticulously tuned to the room, allowing it to perform at its full potential while maintaining a perfectly balanced sound signature at all listening positions.
Visually, the cinema is equally impressive. A JVC 4K laser projector delivers a bright, razor-sharp image with exceptional contrast and colour accuracy, bringing films and streamed content to life on the large-format screen. MadVR video processing further refines the image, dynamically optimising tone mapping and detail to ensure consistent, reference-quality visuals regardless of source. The result is a picture that is cinematic, natural, and deeply immersive, whether watching blockbuster movies or high-end episodic content.
Comfort was a key part of the design, and the bespoke home cinema seating was specified to match the performance level of the room. Custom-finished and arranged across tiered platforms, the seating provides excellent sightlines to the screen while offering exceptional comfort for extended viewing sessions. Integrated cup holders and subtle detailing ensure the seating feels luxurious without distracting from the cinematic experience, reinforcing the sense of a true private theatre.
The room itself was custom built to enhance both performance and atmosphere. Bespoke fabric wall panelling provides acoustic control while maintaining a clean, luxurious finish, complemented by integrated LED lighting that adds depth and drama. Subtle lighting accents highlight architectural features and walkways, creating an inviting environment that transitions effortlessly from pre-show ambience to full blackout cinema mode.
To bring everything together, the entire room is controlled via Control4 automation. From a single interface, the client can start a movie, adjust volume, select sources, and control the environment with ease. Lutron lighting control allows for beautifully smooth lighting transitions, setting the perfect mood at the touch of a button and reinforcing the sense of occasion every time the cinema is used.
This project perfectly demonstrates our approach to home cinema design: technology should disappear into the background, leaving only an effortless, immersive experience.
